Top Customer Question: What Happened To Your Liquid Foundation?
That’s our top question we have gotten over the last year. When we lost access to the main ingredients of the liquid foundation, we did make a post about it but some people must have missed it. So to clear up any confusion about where our liquid foundation went, we thought we would post a recent email exchange between Pamela and a long-time client.
From Client:
Good evening, Have you discontinued selling the liquid foundation? I cannot find it on your website – am I missing something? If it has been discontinued, is there another brand you would recommend for that type of item? I usually use that and then finish up with the loose-setting powder and powder blush. Please advise.
Pamela’s Response:
Hi Courtney –
Thanks for your email. About 18 months ago, the company that made our liquid base foundation and all associated pigments decided, without ever emailing me, that they were stopping production of that product after making it for me for 35 years!!!
It really took me by surprise and even though I begged them to make me a final huge batch they said no. And to make it worse – they had no back stock!
So we have been in a pickle. I’ve had a many clients send me ingredients of literally hundreds of liquid or cream foundations and concealers and not one would I feel comfortable applying to my skin. If you find a foundation you want me to check out, I’m happy to do so.
We all work hard at keeping our skin clear and now potentially to add oils that will clog with an OTC foundation just sucks.
Many clients have switched to our loose mineral foundation that we can custom blend as well for you.
Regarding an alternative – the best one I’ve come up with is Dermablend.
Years ago, we sold Dermablend camouflage makeup and it worked really well and didn’t clog the skin. Then the company changed hands and it got weird. But this specific product looks the best of all the products I’ve reviewed so far.
I cannot guarantee it will not clog your skin, it’s just the one makeup I found that has the least chance of the hundreds I reviewed based upon the list of ingredients.
We still have loose setting powder and blush too.
