Extend Your MultiPlexion Moisturizer with Water!

We received a note from an exasperated mom the other day, telling us her son was going through so much MultiPlexion Moisturizer – what to do!?

This time of year, we’re spending more time indoors with our heaters on, in the dry air. If you’re like the rest of us, we’re applying drying topical medications nightly (and often in the morning too), to prevent new pimples from forming. Adding these two factors together, we’re sure to have a need for moisturizer, if not all over, at least on some areas of our face.

Sure, it feels amazing to slather on gobs of MultiPlexion Moisturizer….just letting your skin soak up the hydration it has to offer, but it’s not necessary to use gobs when in fact, just a small amount will offer you the same hydration and comfort.

Now before you keep reading this blog, you’re probably wondering why we’re telling you how to use LESS of a product rather than encouraging you to use gobs more. To put it candidly, we’re just that type of company. We love deals and shortcuts and know you do, too.

So what’s making your skin feel hydrated? Water!! But if you apply just water to your skin, it will evaporate and remove the moisture from your skin along with it, which makes it an impractical solution to hydrate your skin. In fact, it makes your skin even more dry!

Therefore, you need to use something to seal in the moisture (water) next to your skin so it doesn’t evaporate, and that ‘thing’ is oil. WAIT! Oil!! Before you freak out, remember there are good oils and there are bad oils. And because you can trust us with the ingredients we use in our products, we assure you that we use only good oils….oils that will not clog your skin and will not build up and stop the topical medications from working. 

Which gets us back to the MultiPlexion Moisturizer. Make sure you apply it when your skin is damp, or even add water to the dab in your hand and apply to dry areas. Rub it in well, so the water soaks into the layers of dry, topical dead skin cells (which by the way, is where all topical products land…they never go deeper than that!). The rubbing heats up the oil and makes it spread more thoroughly to seal in the water. Ta-Da!! Moisturized skin, without using the entire container. 

Just a reminder not to use the MultiPlexion Moisturizer at the same time you have the 5% or 10% Benzoyl Peroxide Medication or the Sulfur Formula on your skin. Doing so will stop the topical medication from working deep into the hair follicles to prevent new pimples, which, of course, we do not want to do!!
