My journey with my skin has been a long road. At first glance, no one may have noticed how bad the struggle really was, as I have always been very good at covering it. I never had the red rash like acne of breakout all over, I would get cystic type breakouts (one or 2 at a time but it could be pretty constant). I really didn’t have any problems until I turned 18. I am/was a dancer and an actress so my skin was important. I went to a dermatologist and was on tetracycline.
It didn’t really help and only made my skin irritated and dry. I used proactive for a while, which really did help but after a few weeks my skin would become sooo itchy and irritated and red and felt like it was on fire. I used that as my “emergency” kit when I would have shoots or performances coming up and I needed a quick fix. I found that a lot of the makeup used on sets was giving me bad reactions as well so I have played a game of switching and trying new things for years to find makeup and skin care that consistently worked for me.
I have a 7yr old daughter and a 1yr old baby now. After my son was born, my skin kept getting worse and worse. I had tried everything and did all of the homeopathic things you can as well. I had a friend selling R&F and the results looked amazing. It was a lot of money so I wanted to do more research on it and found that a lot of people with the breakouts like I was having weren’t getting good results, actually only the opposite.
I contacted a dermatologist again who advised against R&F for my skin type and reactions. (Disclaimer, I am sure that line works for many but for what I was dealing with I was advised against it. I seem to have a reaction to everything!)
Then one night, I kept researching R&F because I didn’t know what else to do. I found someone on a site talking about Ninja Skincare and I instantly went and looked into it. I kept reading about this woman named Pam who really invested the time to help them get their skin right.
I was on their site all evening looking around and texted them the next morning. I got a response back quick and had my starter kit and sunscreen and moisturizer ordered that night. I got the benzoyl treatment one.
Pamela was amazing at following up and responding to my questions. After 2 weeks, my skin was drastically clearing up but I was becoming so itchy and red all over again and thought “there’s no way I could do this long term”. I contacted Pamela and sent her a photo. She said “stop using the benzoyl right away. You are having an allergic reaction to it. You are allergic to benzoyl peroxide”. Of all my dermatologist visits and trips to get facials over the years, no one caught that!
She had me send it back to her and she sent me out a different Sulfur based formula right away.
She was so attentive in helping me get to the bottom line problem and get me on a regiment that will work.
I have since switched and only use Ninja makeup on my skin and only use ninja skincare on my face!
I may have a little spot or 2 come up now and again when my hormones are off but it is NO WHERE NEAR what I was dealing with. I have been wearing less and less makeup and my skin is now soft and smooth and no longer painful.
It’s been about 3months since I started Ninja and I have no intentions to stop! I see the scaring diminishing and skin healing more than ever before!
Thank you Pamela and the Ninja Skincare team!!!
