Eye cream – why you should be wearing it

Why using an eye cream is important:

A good eye cream/gel is one of the most essential products in your beauty arsenal.

The skin around the eyes is 40% thinner, loses moisture 50% faster, and is also the least elastic skin of your face. Because of its fragility, the skin around your eyes shows fatigue, dryness and aging much sooner than any other part of your face.

What to do about this? Use a daily eye cream. Unlike most moisturizers, eye creams are specially formulated to address puffiness and balance the hydration of the thinner skin around the eye. Importantly, unlike most moisturizers, eye creams are formulated to be SAFE for use around the eyes because they do not contain ingredients that can cause eye irritation.

Using an eye cream daily will keep your fragile skin hydrated, firm and smooth. We all know that PREVENTING signs of aging is far easier than repairing it later.

How to apply eye cream:

Did you know that your ring finger is the weakest finger? It is! That makes it the best finger for you to apply your eye cream because you do not want to apply too much pressure during application.

First take your ring finger and dip it into your tub. If you want to be SUPER cautious, use a small spatula to remove the eye cream from the tub. If using the Eye Gel, use one or two pumps of the product. Gently apply 3-4 dots around the bottom of your eye. Once that is done, repeat the process above your eye. Once you have applied all the dots, gently, with your ring finger, dab the product into the skin until it is no longer visible. This is not to say that it is entirely rubbed into the skin – it will take 5-10 more minutes for your skin to absorb the product. Wait 30 mins or so until applying eye makeup.
